Jalen Green, in 2021 NBA Draft out of our hometown of Fresno, on why he’s missing college for NBA G League. My full interview with Jalen, parents, his new agent on this groundbreaking move and also the college he would have chosen. Green, 18, told Yahoo Sports that Memphis, led by head coach Penny Hardaway, would have been his choice had he chosen to go to college. Questions are being asked Does he get to choose what team he signs with and how about draft rights? Does that mean he can sign with whatever G league team he wants and avoid going to a bad team? Pretty sure he declares for the draft. The NBA affiliate gets no added advantage to sign him if I’m not mistaken. He has made a tremendous jump from high school straight to college. Top-3 recruit Jalen Green is missing college for a deal in the range of $500k to play in the G League, per. Not only does Jalen Green get $500k to play basketball, the NBA/G League is giving him a $125,000 scholarship to use to get his college education whenever he wants. Jalen Has a lot of people that’s supporting his decision and some may fall short about what he decided to do . Is there a possibility NCAA basketball could follow NCAA baseball? Where players could jump to the G league out of high school. But those who commit to college would be locked in for three years? Green, did what was best for him at a teenager he knows what he wants for himself. The negative comments are coming from those who are on the outside looking in. Most decisions a teenager makes know better for himself and what he doing . The less elite athletes that come to college, the more competitive the college game will be. There will also come a time when the NBA just lets kids come straight from HS again. He had a lot of opportunities that has came his way for himself and his family . People saying and asking why is he missing college but in other words he not missing out he responds” G League will also provide Jalen Green with a full-ride college scholarship: “I’m still going to be able to go back to college and finish school. So, it’s not really that I’m missing out on college because I can go back and finish whenever I need to.”
